Caught this guy or gal in flight at City Park near the Cormorant nesting site. I’m surprised at how good it came out, usually when I get photos of birds in flight they are at least a little bury.

Black billed magpies are beautiful birds, black with white bellies and iridescent blue blue feathers. They are members of the corvid family making them related to crows and bluejays. They are vocal birds with a verity of vocalizations and can imitate speech. Magpies are highly intelligent birds and like their cousins Crows have funerals for their dead.

Found this lady wile walking to a store. I didn’t have my DSLR so used my phone camera. I had to zoom in a bit which gave the full size image that weird look that zoomed in phone images get.

Saw this Snowy Egret at City Park when I was taking photos of the nesting Cormorants. A very beautiful bird, I got a photo of one last year (maybe the same one) and have used it a the wallpaper on my phone sense. I love their plumage, how it looks like long hair. Bet their all metal heads.

Not actually sure if it’s a bearer dam (I would have had to head back in the direction I came, went over a bridge then went back down to get a closer look) but it looks like a beaver damn.

That is not a good name for such a beautiful bird. The way the light refracts in its feathers giving the blues and greens is just gorgeous.
